The Costco catio

What Costco sells

Warehouse Runner identifies the product as the Kitty City Outdoor Mega Catio Kit, manufactured by SportPet Designs, LLC. It describes a modular, three-tiered enclosure measuring 47.25 inches long by 33 inches wide by 46.75 inches high and weighing 11.8 pounds. The enclosure material is nylon mesh; the supplied listing details do not include a Costco item number, so confirm that with your warehouse.

Prices were checked in October 2026. Warehouse Runner shows $29.97 as the lowest verified warehouse price and says displayed prices are for Costco members only. Its price-history preview ranges from $29.97 to $68.99, so the lower figure should not be treated as a price available everywhere.

Availability is the other limitation: Warehouse Runner's snapshot lists 0 stores in stock, 3 with low stock, and 124 out of stock. Its Turlock and Richmond, California, previews both show a $29.97 sale price and low stock, updated October 8, 2026. Check your warehouse before making a trip; those entries are dated snapshots, not a promise of current stock.

Mesh, resting spots, and setup

Warehouse Runner describes nylon mesh that allows air circulation and visibility. Inside are rearrangeable cubby cubes for hiding and sleeping, plus two cat hammocks. These features make it a play-and-rest enclosure, rather than simply an empty mesh pen.

A side zip door provides human access, while a separate tunnel door can connect the enclosure to other Kitty City mesh playsets using tunnels. Additional customization accessories are sold separately. If you want an expanded layout, check what is included before buying connecting pieces.

Ground stakes are included for outdoor stability, and the listing says the kit can be used indoors or outdoors. Warehouse Runner gives an approximate assembly time of 25–45 minutes and recommends two people for fitting the netting around the frame. Measure the intended spot against the full listed dimensions before setting it up.

The kit, as listed

Who the mesh kit suits

This kit suits a buyer looking for a lightweight mesh enclosure with climbing levels, hiding spots, and resting places. Its indoor-or-outdoor use also makes it worth considering if you want something other than a dedicated outdoor structure. The listing promotes space for multiple cats, but it does not give a specific cat capacity.

It is a real catio in the sense that Warehouse Runner describes it as a fully enclosed outdoor play enclosure for indoor cats. It is not the same construction as a wood-and-wire catio with a roof. The listing says the mesh withstands energetic play and occasional claw climbing, but that description does not establish suitability for every cat or outdoor setting.

If your goal is a roofed window-access structure, compare the wood-and-wire alternatives instead. The supplied facts do not describe a window attachment or weatherproof roof for the Kitty City kit. A renter should not assume that the included stakes solve setup on a balcony or paved patio; check the setup requirements for the intended surface.

Other sellers and construction choices

For a wood-and-wire option, PawHut lists its Wooden Window Catio with Stand at $129.99, and Aivituvin lists its AIR22 Outdoor Cat Catio with Window Access at $199.99. These are different construction choices from the Costco mesh kit, not equivalent products at higher prices. Compare access, dimensions, and roof materials against the space you actually have.

Metal and netting alternatives offer other layouts. PawHut lists its Walk-In Metal Catio at $219.99, while My Three Cats lists the Kittywalk Town & Country at $298.95. Choose by the enclosure's materials and access arrangement rather than treating every product called a catio as interchangeable.

• PawHut Wooden Window Catio: 39.4 x 20.5 x 54.7 inches; wood, wire net, and felt; seller says for 1–2 cats.
• Aivituvin AIR22: wood, asphalt, and wire mesh; seller says designed for 2–3 cats.
• PawHut Walk-In Metal Catio: 77 inches tall; galvanized steel tubing and wire mesh; includes platforms, a hammock, and a cover.
• Kittywalk Town & Country: steel and rip stop netting; a netted alternative rather than a wood-and-wire structure.
